Why this is for you

  • (Young) professionalTell your own story, even if you are just starting out.

You don't have to be a born storyteller. You discover how to build a story that sticks and how to tell your own, even if you are just starting out. You practise in a safe group and feel right away what a story does.

  • SupervisorGet your message across to your team and manager, numbers included.

Numbers alone rarely convince. You learn to make complex information and data clear with a recognisable story, so your team and manager remember your message. Useful in presentations, meetings and progress talks.

  • ManagerMake your vision land, so your team wants to come along.

A vision only lands when people see themselves in it. You learn to tell your vision so your team wants to come along, and how to turn a setback into a story that builds trust. That connects instead of steers.

  • HR and L&DAn organisation that tells its story of change clearly and as one.

An organisation that tells its story of change clearly and as one gets followed faster. We work with your own messages and examples. You choose the depth: an inspiring 1.5 to 2-hour presentation or a full day.

What you take away

After this training you can:

  • Captivate. Build a story that holds people, in a presentation or a conversation.
  • Clarify. Make complex information and data clear with a recognisable story.

Introduction

1.5 to 2 hours, online or on site

An introduction through an inspiring presentation on all four topics, for small to large groups. No exercises and no charter: a good starting point.

Going deeper

Full day, on site

A full day of real work, on site: the theory, stories you build and tell yourself, stories about setbacks and your own journey as a leader. You go home with your own charter.

Why a full day?

You learn to tell stories by telling them. You do not build a story in your head: you only hear what works when you say it out loud and see the reaction. A full day gives room to tell, get feedback and sharpen your story. On site you see how people in the room respond, and that makes it real. You go home with stories that ring true to you and your own charter. And because it is one day rather than separate sessions, it keeps the calendar light too.

“I now understand how to use storytelling to connect with people and make my message stick. The training was engaging, practical, and easy to apply.”

Shaping one of your own messages with a known story model, such as a pitch or a hero journey.
Turning data into a story
Turning a dry message or a piece of data into something people remember.
Emotion and connection
Discovering in groups how a story evokes a particular feeling.

What is covered

The art and science of storytelling, the power of stories in business, techniques to make your message stick (such as SCQA and the Pyramid Principle), and stories with data and visuals.

What is a charter?

Your charter is your personal document: “this is how I lead”. You write it yourself during the day, in four short blocks that fit this topic, and finish with a promise to yourself. No theory, but your own words, your own examples and your own first step. You take it home, so you can keep going with it in your work.

Practical: tailoring, location and price

The introduction and the full day are adapted to your organisation. Storytelling is also part of day 2 of the 2-Day Transformation Journey. All trainings are available in Dutch and in English. Every programme is tailored; we discuss the price in the call.
